As you may have noticed, this organization is focused on single-parent-scholars…I’m sure some of you may be wondering what we mean when we say single-parent-scholars, so here it goes…
The Strong Hinkson Organization defines a single-parent-scholar as an individual with all of the following characteristics:
- Marital Status: Single
- Parental Status: Full-time: they have full-custody of at least 1 child who is under the age of 18 years old.
- Academic Status: Full-time: they must be enrolled in full-time post-secondary school studies.
- Financial Status: Low-income
- Annual household income is less than $25 000CAD (gross): this includes employment income and financial benefits issued by the government.
